Context and Problem
We faced a real bottleneck building Synapse-PJ’s enterprise template library. Teams needed 15-20 project templates monthly—API specs, directory structures, CI/CD configs, and test frameworks. Manual configuration took 4 hours per template, and inconsistencies drove maintenance costs higher.
When we introduced AI agents to automate template generation, the initial single-agent approach produced uneven results. Directory structures were solid, but CI configs were missing. The real challenge wasn’t task decomposition—it was context passing and decision conflict resolution. When the PM Agent passed requirements to the development agent, business context got lost. The dev agent applied generic software engineering patterns, overlooking domain-specific configurations. Even when QA caught issues, it lacked historical context to distinguish intentional business customizations from errors.
Solution: Three-Layer Collaboration Architecture
We designed a three-layer architecture starting with the Think Tank Agent as the rules and context maintainer. It manages a shared template_spec.yaml containing organization-wide standardized definitions like API version 1.3, GitHub Actions for CI, pytest for testing, and 85% minimum coverage requirements.
The PM Agent translates business requirements into template specifications. A critical fix: we initially hidden the deviations field, causing dev agents to apply business customizations without QA review. The architecture now requires explicit QA confirmation for all deviations.
